At the Church
Among the many activities and functions at the church are:
- Sunday School
Is held each Sunday at 11:00. - Spirit and Truth Soup Kitchen
The first daily soup kitchen began at our First Presbyterian Church in 1988 in conjunction with Spirit and Truth Ministries. Subsequently four other churches have given their kitchens for feeding the hungry in our community. Each Tuesday morning our faithful volunteers gather at our kitchen to prepare a full course meal for those who come to our church to be filled physically and spiritually. Lunch is served from 11:30 to 12:30--best to arrive by 12:00-- and is free of charge to all who come. Those who wish to volunteer or contribute may contact Pam Carman at 856 265 4849. - Clothes Closet
The "Clothes Closet" at the the First Presbyterian Church is part of the Soup Kitchen in Vineland. We try to keep a supply of used clothes and linens for anyone needing them. We are open only on Tuesday mornings but donations may be left at the church on any working day. Blankets, sheets, towels, and coats are the major need-but all used clothes are gratefully received. - Bible Study
Meets at 10:00am Tuesday morning, at the church. - Choir
Meets for practice at 7:30pm each Thursday evening, at the church. - Handbell Choir
The Handbell Chior is looking for several new members for the 2008-2009 season. No handbell experience is necessary. A basic knowledge of music reading is a plus. A training session can be held to familiarize newcomers with basic handbell playing if needed. We only ask that you be committed to Thursday evening practices and playing during the 10AM worship service the 3rd Sunday of each month. All are welcome! If you would like to join call the church office and leave a message for the Chior Director.
Meets for practice at 6:30pm each Thursday evening, at the church. - Youth Club
Is held on the 2nd Sunday of the month from 5 to 7pm. The Christian Education Committee patterned the program after Vacation Bible School. It involves children from pre-k to 8th grade and includes Bible time, crafts, snacks, music and games. We don’t want any child to be left behind, so if you have a problem with transportation just let us know. If you would be interested in working with this program, we would love to have you. No apparent skill? We’ll put you to work anyhow. Our children are our future. Please take advantage of this opportunity and make sure you sign up your children and grandchildren. - Fellowship Committee
Our current members are Donna and David Picket, Marietta Ritter, Donna Brenner, Sharon Paterno, and co-chairs Ray Ritter and Yvonne Luengo. Our purpose is to provide opportunities for fellowship among Christians. We are each others support group in life.
